My wonderful godfather gave me some hyacinths for Christmas. They are now at their peak and fill the house with the most delicious scent.
But they look like they’ve had one too many gins.
I’m not brilliant at keeping most things alive (just to reassure you, The Other Half and the cat are doing ok to date) but I definitely don’t have the green-fingered ability. I was never very good at keeping goldfish either, if I recall correctly.
I have another pot of bulbs pushing their way to the surface and I need to know if I should be training them to stand up straight, or if I should just resign myself to appreciating them horizontally? Or, perhaps, dose myself with gin so I too slant sideways?
